Job Description

What can you expect?
Becoming an Engineering Apprentice in the world's largest food and drink company is a challenging prospect, requiring the flexibility to master the different technologies and processes that we use throughout our factories. This role is about building and applying your knowledge, to undertake problem solving, preventative maintenance and ultimately support our business to keep running. To enable this, you’ll learn from the best to develop your skills in areas such as safety standards, quality and hygiene.

Our programme lasts 4 years and mixes block release college studies with real on the job work experience in a range of different electrical and mechanical engineering technologies, to provide extensive learning and application opportunities. You’ll learn from the best to develop your skills in areas such as safety standards, quality, and hygiene. Ultimately, you'll have the satisfaction of solving problems, maintaining and improving our equipment and supporting the business to run reliably. Along the way you will build and apply your technical knowledge.

You will study the new Trailblazer Level 3 Food & Drink Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship standard alongside other Nestlé Engineering Apprentices from around the UK, on block release at Kirklees College in Huddersfield. To enable all of our Engineering Apprentices to learn together as one team, you will be away from home at certain times from Monday to Friday, studying in Huddersfield. Nestlé will cover the travel and accommodation costs associated with your study weeks, including a meal allowance.

The knowledge and skills you develop whilst training will be invaluable to supporting your factory in its ongoing success and will form the basis of an exciting future career with Nestlé. Our previous apprentices have gone from Technician roles to become Engineering Specialists, Maintenance Managers, Project Engineers and Engineering Managers looking after teams of people and multi-million pound budgets.

We are looking to set you up for an exciting and varied career at Nestlé with extensive opportunities to continue your learning and development following completion of your Apprenticeship.
