Engineering Apprentice Level 3 Tutbury 2021/2022

Job Description

Join Nestlé as an Engineering Apprentice and turn your creativity, problem solving and analytical skills into a respected career. This is your chance to learn from highly credible engineering professionals at the biggest food and beverage company in the world—giving you an unmatched start to your career.

Engineering, here, is about delivering solutions to the diverse problems that come with being such a large global company. That takes different ideas from different kinds of people, all working together as a single team. That’s why inclusivity is so important to us—and why we help everyone to perform at their best.

Come and get the quality mentorship and encouragement that will support you into the role you want. Running at locations all over the country, our Engineering Apprenticeship makes learning with some of the world’s top engineering professionals accessible. Throw yourself into the opportunity and you’ll be off to a flying start in a career full of exciting development opportunities.

What the Engineering Apprenticeship entails

Joining us as an Engineering Apprentice means getting involved with a huge and varied area of our business. You’ll work with teams on live projects and learn new engineering techniques by doing them yourself in a structured, supported environment. Your team will count on you to deliver, but you’ll have top professionals on hand to make sure you achieve positive learning outcomes.

As you progress through the Programme, you’ll zero in on the kind of engineering role you’re best suited to— You will be taught a wide range of engineering skills and be exposed to our continuous improvement culture including root cause analysis and fault finding. You’ll also be mentored in core business skills, like problem-solving, innovation and how to communicate and collaborate with others to get the best results from the projects you undertake.

Taking time out from the factory floor, you’ll also get a taste of student life when you attend residential learning modules at college. Here you’ll get to meet other Apprentices from around the country—it’s a great chance to strike up professional relationships and build your network.

Whichever path you choose through our Engineering Apprenticeship—you’ll always have the mentorship and support you need to achieve outstanding professional goals as you build a career you can really take pride in.

Additional Information

Who is eligible for the Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme?

We’re looking for people with a positive attitude, who have their sights set on an engineering based career within our operation and can’t wait to get the guidance they need to attain it. Yes, you’ll need 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English, with actual or predicted grades at 9–4 (or A*- C if received in 2017 or earlier), but equally important is the drive to really achieve your goals.

We want to see that you fit in here—and in Engineering, that means being a great communicator. When you join our teams, you’ll need to engage with your colleagues, listen to instructions and ask the right questions, so you can really impress with your performance. That’s how to get on here.

What will I get out of a Nestlé Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme?

By the end of the Apprenticeship, you'll have a fulfilling career that suits your individual abilities and interests—all while your friends are still studying at university. Not to mention a Level 3 Food & Drink Maintenance Engineer qualification and a future that’s full of possibility—perhaps even a leadership role.

This is your chance to put some serious experience to your name by working with big name brands like KitKat, Felix, Buxton Quality Street, Shreddies and Nescafé. With that under your belt, you’ll have serious standing as an Engineer within our operations team, and it’ll show in the newly found confidence you exude in professional life.

At Nestlé, you’re part of something bigger. That’s what our ‘Force for Good’ initiative is about. It’s built around Creating Shared Value (CSV) by aligning our commercial goals with social responsibilities. Making a positive difference in the wider world is a priority for us and, with the work you'll do to improve our efficiency, you’ll be helping with that.

It’s all of this that makes this opportunity much more than a route to secure employment. If you’re aiming high in your career, we’ll help you hit your target—and then some.
