What the Engineering Scheme entails
Our Engineering Graduate Scheme is designed to make your transition from university into a serious engineering career as swift and seamless as possible. You’ll never be rushed here but, after experiencing this range of structured, business critical work, you’ll be more than ready and eager to get things moving. As you grow in confidence and overall technical competence, you’ll start to contribute your own ideas to the fit-for-future transformation to industry 4.0, electrical and automation projects and you’ll have access to all the guidance you need to realise them in the best way possible. The two-year scheme will give you diverse experience of engineering at its cutting-edge best and an overall view of our organisation, to show you how your own career could progress. With the mentoring you’ll receive and management skills you’ll develop, all your ambitions will be within reach.
Who is eligible for the Engineering Graduate Scheme?
Our Engineering Scheme is for problem solvers, agile thinkers and people who know where their career is heading. You’ll need a Mechanical, Digital, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree, but what’s really important is your attitude. We’re looking for people who are looking ahead with a sense of opportunity and optimism—about their own and the wider future—and who take responsibility for delivering on that optimism. At Nestlé, we’re aware of the power and responsibility we have to help build a better future. As a Graduate here, you won’t just be improving your career prospects and fulfilling your own potential, you’ll be making a real difference in the wider world.
What will I get out of a Nestlé Engineering Graduate Scheme?
What’s really going to excite the most creative Engineers is seeing how everything works at Nestlé. Not just the machines we use, but how all the different departments and functions integrate. It’s a unique opportunity to lift the lid on the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturer—and learn by getting involved yourself. As you rotate throughout our Engineering function, you’ll be working on the processes that produce iconic brands like KitKat, Purina, Smarties and Aero. Imagine knowing that you played a major role in creating the products that everyone knows and loves. Then, imagine developing the management skills that could see you leading on those processes. That’s the level of involvement and real job satisfaction that lies in store with a scheme like this. As you complete the Engineering Functional Competency structured programme, you’ll undertake a range of detailed tasks in engineering maintenance, maintenance, industrial services, electrical & automation, in addition to working on longer-term projects. All this, plus there’s the knowledge that working here has a positive impact in the wider world that comes from our ‘Force for Good’ initiative. Based around Creating Shared Value (CSV), it means making business decisions that benefit the wellbeing of everyone. We’re an organisation with the power and the responsibility to make seismic changes to lessen the environmental impact where we can. Our factories are continually working to increase efficiencies, decrease waste and do things such as converting some of our most popular products to paper packaging. We’re already taking huge steps in the right direction. Join us and you could help us take giant leaps. Imagine putting your name to something like that. With Nestlé, you can.
