Packaging Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship

Job Description

What can you expect?
As the world’s largest food manufacturer, we use a huge amount of packaging, but we are striving to make our impact on the environment as low as possible.
We’re using a range of innovative materials, processes and delivery methods that will position us as a global innovator, caring about the planet and its resources.
In fact, by 2025 we aim to make ALL our packaging recyclable or re-usable.

With sustainability high on the agenda, our packaging team are working hard to develop the most innovative end-to-end materials and process chain there is.
Part of the process is analysing new materials and new ways of presenting and packaging our products.
So, as a Degree Apprentice in packaging, there really hasn’t been a better time to come on-board, learn new skills and play your part in the wave of innovation that is central to our development.

Responsible for projects, problem solving, analysis and supplier management, you will get to learn and apply those skills in practical solutions as you help us pilot new initiatives.
It’s a tremendously exciting four-year Apprenticeship, aiming to develop you into a packaging professional.
You’ll become familiar with every stage in the process and contribute significantly to our future environmental commitments.
The Apprenticeship is also a potential opportunity to broaden your experience by working across some of our many factory sites.

Join us and you’ll:

  • Gain a Packaging Degree as you experience a wide variety of roles and a range of responsibilities
  • Have Nestlé’s continued support to help you further your career
  • Manage exciting new packaging projects, as you work with suppliers, tweaking packaging where required and identifying new materials
  • Work with a range of different teams including Marketing, Production, Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Develop vital technical knowledge, including the pros and cons of a range of different materials and their various production methods
  • Gain project management skills and develop a commercial mind-set, both of which are hugely transferable
  • Excel at admin and become a whizz at writing design specifications
  • Provide technical assistance to the factories on packaging, becoming prominent in piloting equipment and facilitating trials at pilot level
