Job Description

Our Nestlé Operations Degree Apprenticeship offers you a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience at the very heart of our production and manufacturing function, whilst developing vital business knowledge and earning a competitive salary.

You’ll be tackling a real job from day one as a key member of our production teams, making a genuine contribution to the business.
The focus will be on developing your skills and knowledge, so your job will support your learning as you work towards your fully-funded final degree. Yes, we will pay for your studies too!

What can you expect?
The three-year programme offers you an amazing opportunity to combine University studies with practical experience in our global business.
By the end of the Apprenticeship, you'll have developed the professional knowledge combined with the skills and behaviours to set you up for future success.

You'll study for a BA (Hons.) degree in Professional Business Practice at Sheffield Hallam University in blocks of study and combine this with rotations in our operations teams.
To meet business needs these will involve shift work patterns comprising days, nights and weekends. In the first two years you'll gain invaluable experience in all elements of technical, production and manufacturing, including a focus on safety, health and the environment and helping us find ways to continually improve what we do.
In your final year, you will specialise in a specific area, based on your strengths, future aspirations and our business needs.

Your start date will be August/September 2018 and your starting salary will be £16,000, with the potential to increase on each year of the programme providing you've successfully completed your training and met performance expectations.  

This is a new programme and a fantastic opportunity to gain real technical, production and manufacturing experience while studying for a business degree.

Who are we looking for?
We're looking for ambitious and innovative candidates with a genuine passion for learning and developing a production and manufacturing career in the food and drink industry.
In line with the updated UCAS scoring system, candidates completing their A-levels in 2017 will need 104 UCAS points from three A Levels (excluding General Studies) or equivalent to be eligible for this programme. The equivalent requirement based on the former UCAS scoring system (2016 and previous) is 260 UCAS points.

We’re looking for candidates who are keen to develop both their academic business knowledge and their technical, production and manufacturing skills, therefore those who already hold a business related degree, unfortunately are not eligible to apply.

And to enable you to build the necessary skills and relevant experience on this programme, candidates will also need to be happy to work shift patterns.

We’re looking for candidates who meet these minimum criteria:

  • You must have 5 GCSEs or equivalent (actual or predicted) at grades A* - C (must include English and Maths)
  • You must be able to commute to and from your chosen work location
  • You must be 18 years of age by 1st September 2017
  • You must have documented proof of your Right to Work in the UK.
